Nutritionist Consultations

You are a unique individual. You deserve a higher level of care, individual attention and a holistic approach which respects you as a whole person. I provide this higher level of care to all of my clients.

As both a Health Coach and a Registered Dietitian, you get the benefits of both approaches in your sessions with me. As a health coach, I can help you reach your wellness goals by using proven strategies from psychology that facilitate meaningful behavior change for the long-term. And, as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a Masters degree in Nutrition, you can feel confident that I have the knowledge, training and experience to provide you with correct guidance around nutrition and healthy eating.

I am effective because I have a special knack for getting to the root of the problem and helping you create reasonable goals that will improve or solve the situation. I am also a unique blend of empathetic and no-nonsense, so I will be your cheerleader and encourage you but also challenge you to stay on track with what you want to achieve.

The 90 minute premium initial consultations include a thorough assessment of important lifestyle factors which impact health – with an emphasis on nutrition but I also check in on your physical activity, energy level, sleep, stress and weight management. In addition, I ask about your medical history and any medications or supplements you’re taking. Everything we discuss in the session is confidential. With this approach, I can start to get a full picture of your health. After the session, for your reference, I provide you with my written recommendations and the list of goals (action plan) that we created together during the session.

Follow-up sessions are optional. However, they are very effective with helping you get on track and establish habits which will improve and support your long-term health. Follow-ups are typically once or twice a month and scheduled at a time that is convenient for both of us.

Most people would benefit from multiple sessions with me. Changing habits takes time – working together over multiple sessions will increase the likelihood of your success in making long-term changes. However, there is no long-term commitment required and no sales pressure. I’m simply here to help in any way that I can – whether that’s with 1 session, 3 sessions or 10 sessions.

All sessions are one-on-one and individualized for you. We can focus on 1 key area or we can work on improving a variety of areas. It’s all up to you! Some examples of things we could work on:

  • Nutrition / healthy eating
  • Physical activity
  • Weight loss (if overweight) or weight gain (if underweight)
  • Energy and sense of vitality
  • Preventing or improving chronic conditions (diabetes, prediabetes, heart disease, hypertension, etc.)

I would describe my philosophy of health as moderate and open-minded. I don’t like extremes as I feel like extreme approaches don’t work well for most people in the long-term. When choosing a plan of care, I take into consideration evidence based, tried-and-true interventions as well as alternative medicine approaches.

Book a session with me now to get on the path to vibrant health – to feel better and more energized today and for the long-term.

To your health,

Lisa Henderson, MS, RDN
