Weight Loss Program

Dietitian-created and Dietitian-guided 30-day program; based on a whole foods, anti-inflammatory diet for weight loss

Intention: safe, sustainable weight loss through learning and adopting the principles of healthy, balanced eating – whole foods, moderation, mindfulness, pleasure and eating a variety of nutrient-rich foods that promote satiety. In addition, for the length of the 30-day program, participants will minimize or eliminate sweets, juices, sweetened beverages, dried fruit, refined carbohydrates, added sugars and any food made from any type of flour (breads, pastries, bagels, pasta, etc.) Alcoholic beverages that are low in sugars are allowed, but are limited to 1 drink a day, less than 5 days per week.

As a supplement to the program, if physically able, participants will be encouraged to engage in regular physical activity (combination of cardio and strength training) for 150-300 minutes per week. This level of physical activity will enhance weight loss progress and improve body composition by burning fat and calories and building lean muscle mass.

I’ve developed this weight loss program for adults 18-64 years old with a BMI in the overweight or obese range. It’s meant for adults who are generally healthy, who want a natural, long-term approach to weight loss and healthy eating without the use of weight loss medications. Ideal participants will have sufficient time in their schedule to devote to learning about the program, participating in one-on-one sessions virtually with me, healthy eating, cooking/meal prep and physical activity for 30 days. Those who have a higher likelihood of succeeding with this strict program will have these three qualities – openness to change, commitment and determination. Potential participants will be screened to determine if they are an appropriate fit for this program.

This program is not intended for kids (under the age of 18). It’s also not intended for adults with advanced kidney disease, kidney failure, those with an eating disorder or with any signs of disordered eating or those who are underweight.
